Fiery Bachmann predicts GOP win

PINEHURST - Michele Bachmann told Moore County Republicans on Thursday night that the 2012 elections will be an overwhelming success for the GOP - as long as the party doesn't settle for less conservative values.

Bachmann is running for the presidential nomination and hopes to face, and beat, President Obama during his re-election bid next year.

During a fundraiser for the Moore County Republican Party at the Pinehurst Members Club, she hammered the president for passing "job-killing" legislation and failing to turn around the faltering American economy.

"We know that Mr. Hope and Change is not Mr. Hope and Change," she said, referring to terms Obama used heavily in his election campaign.

Bachmann is trying to bolster her lagging presidential campaign. She is currently fourth in national polls among likely Republican voters, with between 4 percent and 12 percent support. READ...
